Yes we do. At the time of rental, you will be given the option of taking our damage waiver. Should something happen to the boat while you are out (and this includes anything from you hitting the bottom/a log in the water/a lighthouse to a meteor hitting and totaling the vessel) this waiver will limit your responsibility to $750.
If you don’t have it, you are responsible for the cost of the repairs and/or lost rental time. In most cases, the waiver is $25 per day, except for boats 26′ and up when it is $30 per day.

“Some of the waiver stuff comes off a little scary. I know that boats are expensive and every company I’ve rented from has been very careful. I am already as careful as possible. It just freaks me out slightly to about [sic] the huge amount of liability if I hit a log. I guess I can understand the wisdom of making these things understood prior to rental but it might freak out some people.”
We would like to address that because we do hear this sentiment often enough to concern us. For anyone who feels the same way, we would like you to consider the implications of owning your own boat. If you hit a log, you are going to have to pay to fix your boat. If you rent a car and run into a street pole, you are going to be held financially responsible. You take the same risk renting a boat – it’s only fair. Our damage waiver is a pretty awesome thing, because instead of owing us a boat, should something like that happen, you can pay $750 toward the damages and walk away. Considering the fact that engines cost upwards of $22,000 and the boat itself is anywhere from $25,000 to $100,000, we feel our policy is a good opportunity for our clients. We do not intend to freak anyone out, rather, we like to offer them that opportunity.
Half days are four and a half hours and are available from 8AM until 12:00PM OR from 1:00PM until 5PM.
Yes! Please check out our Rental Equipment page for more details on availability and prices.
To rent a boat, you need to have a valid drivers license, a valid credit card and be 25 years of age or older, also, if you were born on or after January 1, 1988, you will need a Boating Safety Education ID Card. When you come to pick up your boat, please bring a credit card that we can put a $750 hold on for our damage deposit and the drivers license of the person in your party supplying that credit card.
If you do not have or have very limited ocean boating experience, we simply require that you take a one hour boating lesson with us for $50. (Not Available June 1 - September 1) You and anyone in your party who’d like to join in will be taken out with one of our very knowledgeable employees and shown hands-on all the basics you’ll need to know. Learning like this is definitely more interesting than sitting in front of a computer and reading! You’ll be driving the boat by the end, and you’ll know how to keep yourselves and the boat safe while enjoying the waters of the Keys.
We require a valid credit card to hold your reservation. If your rental is 3 days or more, we will take a 50% credit card deposit at the time of reservation.
We are located in Key Largo on the ocean side at mile marker 99.7, our booth is in the parking lot of the Marriott Courtyard hotel, on the same canal as the Holiday Inn and Marina Del Mar.
In Islamorada, we are located at Smuggler Coves Marina mile marker 85.9, our shop is on the bay side just north of Snake Creek Bridge.
We do deliver boats for rentals of 3 days or more (please refer to our Location sections for details and black-out dates). Depending on your location, we will either bring the boat by water or we will deliver the boat by trailer to a boat ramp near you. From there you can take the boat to the slip you have available to you.
We get this question all the time, so we’ve provided a guide with the average price spent on fuel per day on each of our boats. Please keep in mind that this is purely for estimation purposes, actual fuel usage and cost will depend on a lot of factors. Luckily, you as the operator have a lot of control over most of those factors. The major variables are the time spent running the engine, how much distance you cover with the boat, how loaded down the boat is with people and gear, the way you accelerate the motors, what RPM you run the boat at while driving, and the weather/wind that you’re moving against. Running the boat at around 3500-4500 RPM will give you the best fuel mileage and you have good control over all the other variables excepting weather – keep that in mind and you’ll likely come away with a fuel charge nearer the average rate than not. Generally, marine fuel runs about $0.40 – $0.50 higher than gasoline prices on shore.
AVERAGE DAILY FUEL COSTS
18′ Flats Boat—$40
26′ Deck Boat—$75
No, fuel is not included in the rental price. Renting a boat is just like renting a car: we are going to give you the boat full of fuel at the beginning of your rental. When you bring the boat back, you just need to fill it up to the top and pay for what you used. For a guide on estimating how much you might spend on fuel, please see our FAQ “What is the average spent on fuel per day?”
If we find that the boat was not fueled up properly, we will fill the boat ourselves and will charge $8.00 per gallon. It’s in your interest to fill the boat up when you bring it back in
Our days are 8AM until 5PM. If you are renting for multiple days, your rental begins at 8AM on the first day and ends at 5PM on the last day. We have half days available, mornings 8-12:00 and afternoons 1:00-5.
At this time we do not have our own Captains or Charters available, but we can refer you to, many onsite, knowledgeable Captains in the area.
